There is no much that I can say about such a hero that you haven't already heard. Our fathers, and grandfathers, endured the most horrible experiences that any fighting man has ever had to endure. And yet, war hasn't changed any for our generation.
I am reminded of a story that was told to me by a retired Marine Lt. Col. friend of mine who was a pilot. He had an opportunity to meet some of todays' best and brightest that were flying the most state of the art aircraft. My friend related the story of a young pilot who chose in flight school to fly cargo planes because he would have it easy. The young pilot ended up in a house being overrun by terrorist and having to gouge out a man's eye with his finger to stay alive.
The average American who volunteers to go through this is to be thanked. So, thank you James Hoyt. And God bless you.
